Biomass

Biomass is a low carbon, renewable energy source

Denton Hall is situated amongst 2,500 acres of the Denton Estate.

This is well managed land which provides significant quantities of wood and a cost-effective, low carbon alternative fuel supply. We have invested in processing equipment capable of handling 5,000 tonnes per year of raw material for wood chip heating fuel.

We now produce and supply biomass fuel for distribution throughout Yorkshire. The system is designed to be run entirely from sustainable woodland, the majority of which comes from within a 30 mile radius of the Ilkley site. All the timber is of high quality, and provides an effective, sustainable fuel source.

This project is supported under the England Rural Development Programme for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, the Forestry Commission and the European Agricultural Guidance and Guarantee Fund.
