Typical building given a 'green' design treatment
Attaining a BREEAM rating for any project is no mean feat.
But NG Bailey has put its money where its mouth is to create a new central Scotland head office that it hopes will be the envy of commercial property developers throughout the UK. State-of-the-art technologies have been employed throughout the building, based at Strathclyde business park, to make it one of the most environmentally sound in the country.
It was the 'green' design of Solais House (named after the Gaelic word for light), that enabled the building to achieve an A-rating on its Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) in addition to its BREEAM rating. And, as well as being good for the environment, the technologies that have been put in place will save NG Bailey £50,000 per year on running costs.
